THE APHRODITE INHERITANCE Recently been doing a bit of work on The Aphrodite Inheritance
pages of the website, including adding some observations in a section called
"So what was it all about ….?" in which website visitors Natalia Tzenou and
Philip Clarke have been assisting me to unravel some of the subtext in Michael
Bird's storyline. Further contributions would be most welcome. I have also added another contemporary review of the series "Death
and intrigue in Cyprus" from the Sydney Morning Herald in Nov 1979,
courtesy of website visitor Clive Gillman. And Philip Clarke has continued tracking down the
locations used in the filming of the series. |
TV GOLD (Callan) I have continued adding to the TV Gold section of the website with the help of website visitor and Callan fan Mandy Knighton-Clarke. It is becoming quite a little resource. Mandy has also sent me info on a couple of the other series featured, or planned to be featured, on the TV Gold page. All I need now is the time to do something about it! |

ACTOR MICHAEL CHESDEN (The Dark Side of the Sun) Actor Michael Chesden, who played Major Lambrinos - the Greek policeman in The Dark Side of the Sun tells me he is currently working on a play about Bela Lugosi’s 1951 British tour of Dracula. A two-hander featuring the characters of Bela and Lillian Lugosi, the play explores the couple’s relationship as Bela’s almost total dependence upon Lillian pushes it beyond breaking point. You can read more in an interview with Michael about the production. |
WHO PAYS THE FERRYMAN? UK DVD RELEASE? There have been reports in internet chat forums that Who Pays the Ferryman? is to get a UK DVD release in the New Year from a company called Eureka Entertainment Ltd. I have written to the company asking if they can confirm the reports but to date had no response. If it is true, I fear they may have missed the boat. There can't be many fans left who have not given up waiting and bought the Dutch release. Still it is nice to think someone cares (at last!) |

THE LOTUS EATERS Picked up a nice little feature about The Lotus Eaters episode "A Touch of Home" from an Australian TV Guide in 1973 and added it to the Features page in the LE section of the website. |
