People of every generation think the time in which they live is of special significance.
It is a conceit occurring naturally in us all.
But even recognising that, I firmly believe that the period during which Michael Bird was writing for
(and I was growing up watching) British television – the sixties, seventies and even the early eighties
– was a golden age for television drama. Week after week, month after month, year after year, both
ITV and BBC turned out intelligent, imaginative and, above all, entertaining drama series.
This offshoot of the main MJB site will feature information about classic British drama series. They do not
necessarily have any connection to Michael Bird - other than that they were contemporary with the
shows he worked on.
Would Bird mind them sharing 'his' space? I think not.
